Account to use HPC facilities

HPC facilities are managed by eLab (www.escience-lab.org) the joint laboratory for e-science among Democritos and Sissa.
To get an account on such facilities please refer to the following pages:

Access Servers (access to your main directory from outside SISSA)

Users home directories are centrally stored on a file server of the SISSA main cluster. These directories are reachable outside SISSA using a Secure Shell remote terminal connection (SSH) on ssh.sissa.it.
The server ssh.sissa.it is configured for some simple operations only. Please read the page New common access server for more infos.
There are no scientific SWs, compilers or libraries on ssh.sissa.it.
To run your programs, you have to use your workstation or HPC resources.

Users home directories are shared on all Sector workstations, which are assigned to users by the Sector computer responsible. On their workstations (Linux O.S.) the users can login and use the programs locally installed and the local file system - for example /scratch -(which are never backupped).

About the DISK USAGE -- your main directory -- scratch areas

For more information about: space disks usage, disks accessibility from outside SISSA, your main directory (home) & quota and scratch areas, please read the disk usage page.
